Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Researcher will focus on:
- Designing and fabricating microscale and nanoscale biosensor components using cleanroom-based microfabrication techniques (e.g., photolithography, thin-film deposition, etching).
- Developing and optimizing electrochemical sensing strategies including amperometric, potentiometric, and impedance-based detection methods.
- Functionalizing sensor surfaces with biological recognition elements (e.g., enzymes, antibodies, aptamers) for selective analyte detection.
- Integrating sensing elements into needle-based platforms suitable for minimally invasive or implantable applications.
- Performing electrochemical and analytical characterization in biological environments.
- Analyzing experimental data and refining device performance through iterative design.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary researchers across engineering, materials science, and biomedical domains.
- Preparing manuscripts, reports, and presentations to disseminate research findings.
Eligibility/Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in microfabrication techniques, including photolithography, thin-film deposition, and etching.
- Solid background in electrochemistry with hands-on experience in techniques such as amperometry, potentiometry, or impedance spectroscopy.
- Experience in biosensor development and surface functionalization for chemical or biological sensing.
- Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with implantable or wearable medical devices.
- Familiarity with microfluidics and lab-on-chip systems.
- Knowledge of biocompatible materials and packaging strategies.
- Experience translating laboratory prototypes into functional devices.
