Job Description:

The Postdoctoral Researcher will focus on:

  • Designing and fabricating microscale and nanoscale biosensor components using cleanroom-based microfabrication techniques (e.g., photolithography, thin-film deposition, etching).
  • Developing and optimizing electrochemical sensing strategies including amperometric, potentiometric, and impedance-based detection methods.
  • Functionalizing sensor surfaces with biological recognition elements (e.g., enzymes, antibodies, aptamers) for selective analyte detection.
  • Integrating sensing elements into needle-based platforms suitable for minimally invasive or implantable applications.
  • Performing electrochemical and analytical characterization in biological environments.
  • Analyzing experimental data and refining device performance through iterative design.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary researchers across engineering, materials science, and biomedical domains.
  • Preparing manuscripts, reports, and presentations to disseminate research findings.

Eligibility/Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in microfabrication techniques, including photolithography, thin-film deposition, and etching.
  • Solid background in electrochemistry with hands-on experience in techniques such as amperometry, potentiometry, or impedance spectroscopy.
  • Experience in biosensor development and surface functionalization for chemical or biological sensing.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with implantable or wearable medical devices.
  • Familiarity with microfluidics and lab-on-chip systems.
  • Knowledge of biocompatible materials and packaging strategies.
  • Experience translating laboratory prototypes into functional devices.
