Research Area

Microfluidics, Nanomedicine, Therapeutic Nanoparticles, Soft Matter Biophysics, and Neutron/X-ray Scattering Characterisation.

About the Research Project

The project focuses on designing advanced microfluidic platforms for studying therapeutic nanoparticles using small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) at the European Spallation Source (ESS). The research will investigate how nanoparticle properties such as surface functionalisation, protein corona formation, and glycosylation affect the structure and biological performance of lipid- and polymer-based nanocarriers.

The project is a collaboration between Chalmers University of Technology, ESS (Sweden), and ISIS Neutron and Muon Source (UK), combining expertise in nanotechnology, biophysics, scattering techniques, and molecular simulations.

Location

Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden

The researcher will work in the Department of Life Sciences, Division of Molecular Bioscience, within an interdisciplinary environment combining biology, chemistry, physics, nanotechnology, and advanced biophysical methods. Occasional visits to ESS in Lund, Sweden, will be required for beamtime experiments.
