Postdoctoral Researcher – Quantitative Biodiversity: The German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig is seeking to fill the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher to analyze Germany-wide biodiversity data. The successful candidate will conduct scientific trend analyses of spatio-temporal dynamics of biodiversity patterns, evaluate recording methods and databases, and contribute to the visualization of analysis outputs.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in biology, ecology, computational science, or a related field
- Experience in database management, scientific programming (R and/or Python), and quantitative biodiversity analysis
- Desirable: Experience in collaboration with natural history societies, state agencies, museums, and taxon experts; knowledge of hierarchical Bayesian models and data integration modeling; experience in data visualization and R-Shiny application development
Job Description:
- Conduct scientific trend analyses of spatio-temporal dynamics of biodiversity patterns
- Carry out scientific analyses of possibilities and limitations of data integration
- Evaluate recording methods and databases for the conception of biodiversity monitoring programs
- Collaborate with authorities and natural history societies to mobilize, harmonize, integrate, and analyze data
- Contribute to the visualization of analysis outputs
- Organize sMon workshops and liaise with data providers
- Create high-quality scientific outputs and support research proposal preparation
