Postdoctoral Researcher (Quantum Optics): Tampere University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our internationally recognized Experimental Quantum Optics group. The candidate will work on pioneering research related to structured matter waves of electrons and ions within the framework of a well-funded ERC Starting Grant project, TWISTION.

Research Area:

The focus is on complex structured matter waves, including the generation and measurement of electron and ion beams. The research is positioned at the interplay between quantum optics and atom physics.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • An internationally recognized PhD degree in quantum physics research, ideally in atom physics and matter waves.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Python) is highly appreciated.
  • Expertise in quantum foundations, matter waves, and atom physics is advantageous.

Job Description:

The Postdoctoral Researcher will:

  • Conduct fundamental research on structured matter waves.
  • Collaborate within a vibrant, diverse research group.
  • Develop novel mechanisms to generate and measure matter waves.
  • Contribute to ongoing quantum optics experiments.
  • Supervise Bachelor, Master, or PhD students and partake in teaching tasks.
