Eligibility/Qualification:
- For Postdoctoral Researcher: Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related field
- For Research Assistant: Master’s degree in molecular biology or a related field
- Preferred Experience: Background in cell biology, protein biochemistry, bioinformatics, phylogenomics, genomics, or molecular plant-microbe interactions is advantageous.
- Additional Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluency in English.
Job Description:
Successful candidates will be involved in projects exploring the molecular mechanisms by which nucleotide-binding domain leucine-rich repeat proteins (NLRs) recognize pathogen-derived effectors, leading to the formation of resistosomes. This research focuses on understanding how NLR resistosome activation triggers hypersensitive cell death, a defense response crucial for stopping pathogen spread. Projects also include translational research aimed at enhancing resistance across crop species by leveraging NLR networks, bridging fundamental discoveries with practical applications in agriculture.
Salary:
- Postdoctoral Researcher: Starting at 62,776 NTD/month
- Research Assistant: Starting at 43,624 NTD/month
- Adjustments may be available based on experience, following the Academia Sinica pay scale.
