Job Description:
Postdoctoral Researcher – Role of Soil Microbes in Plant Invasions and Ecosystem Restoration
- Lead a global-scale analysis of plant invasion, specifically testing the role of mycorrhizal fungi as a dispersal filter.
- Participate in a collaborative effort across Europe and the Tropics to track the restoration of the belowground microbiome during abandonment of agricultural and managed forests.
- Conduct research encompassing metabarcoding, analysis of large datasets, and publishing related findings.
- Coordinate larger team communications within the Global Microbial Ecology Group.
Position Notes:
- Initial one-year contract with the possibility of extension for a second year based on evaluation.
- Preferred start date by or before April 1, 2024, but a later start date may be possible.
- ETH follows a fixed salary band for postdoctoral researchers; all research costs covered by existing funding.
