Research Area

The successful candidate will join the Computational Biology group within the Life Sciences Department at BSC, focusing on structural bioinformatics, personalized medicine, and protein design.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Education: Ph.D. in Structural Bioinformatics or related field.
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:
  • Proven experience in protein sequence/structure modeling and analysis.
  • Experience with ML/AI methodologies applied to biology.
  • Programming skills in Python.
  • Additional Knowledge:
  • Experience in protein design and synthetic biology projects.
  • Expertise in molecular dynamics simulations.
  • Knowledge of complex networks analysis.
  • Familiarity with HPC environments.
  • Language: Fluency in spoken and written English.

Job Description

The selected Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for:

  • Participating in national and European research projects in structural bioinformatics and protein design.
  • Developing and applying ML/AI methods for protein design and analysis of protein-protein interactions.
  • Investigating protein-protein interaction networks using coevolution-based and AI-based approaches.
  • Attending scientific conferences and workshops for professional development.
  • Contributing to grant writing and establishing collaborations with national and international researchers.
