Research Area
The successful candidate will join the Computational Biology group within the Life Sciences Department at BSC, focusing on structural bioinformatics, personalized medicine, and protein design.
Eligibility/Qualification
- Education: Ph.D. in Structural Bioinformatics or related field.
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:
- Proven experience in protein sequence/structure modeling and analysis.
- Experience with ML/AI methodologies applied to biology.
- Programming skills in Python.
- Additional Knowledge:
- Experience in protein design and synthetic biology projects.
- Expertise in molecular dynamics simulations.
- Knowledge of complex networks analysis.
- Familiarity with HPC environments.
- Language: Fluency in spoken and written English.
Job Description
The selected Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for:
- Participating in national and European research projects in structural bioinformatics and protein design.
- Developing and applying ML/AI methods for protein design and analysis of protein-protein interactions.
- Investigating protein-protein interaction networks using coevolution-based and AI-based approaches.
- Attending scientific conferences and workshops for professional development.
- Contributing to grant writing and establishing collaborations with national and international researchers.
