Job Description: The Postdoctoral Researcher will lead an interdisciplinary research project focused on understanding how ambient temperature influences the process of translation in Arabidopsis thaliana. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting state-of-the-art next-generation sequencing experiments (RNA-seq, ribosome profiling) to track translation dynamics in vivo.
- Utilizing molecular and biochemical techniques (e.g., in vitro translation assays, qPCR, western blots).
- Generating, phenotyping, and molecularly analyzing Arabidopsis mutants/transgenic lines.
- Supervising and instructing undergraduate and PhD students.
- Preparing and presenting research findings at group meetings, departmental seminars, and conferences.
- Writing manuscripts for publication.
Eligibility/Qualification: The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Hold or be close to obtaining a Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Strong track record in (plant) molecular biology, with expertise in next-generation sequencing, including data analysis.
- Experience in translatome analysis (Ribo-seq, TRAP-seq, or similar) is desirable.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python or R).
- Demonstrated ability to acquire novel techniques, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.
- Effective teamwork and independent research skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
