Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Microbiology, Virology, Microbial Ecology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- Knowledge in Viral Ecology, Microbial Ecology, Microfluidics, Microscopy, Image Analysis, and Microbiology-relevant laboratory skills.
- High motivation, independence, and dedication to the project.
- Quantitative skills, excellent oral communication (English), and writing skills.
Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Researcher, your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Conducting laboratory-based micro- and mesocosm experiments to explore phage-bacteria interactions in stream biofilms.
- Utilizing various imaging techniques to understand how phage activity influences biofilm structure and function.
- Investigating how biofilm structure may be modulated in response to phage infections.
- Working with natural communities in mesocosms and single phage-bacteria pairs using microfluidic techniques.
- Contributing to the advancement of knowledge in viral ecology, microbial ecology, and environmental sciences.
