Postdoctoral Researchers in Neurogenomics: Human Technopole (HT), an interdisciplinary research institute in Milan, Italy, is seeking two highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to contribute to a new FIS Starting Grant project focused on investigating the host-virus interplay in the context of Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV-1) latency. The successful candidates will be part of an interdisciplinary team using cutting-edge human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) technology, single-cell and spatial genomics, high-resolution imaging, and CRISPR screens to study the molecular mechanisms regulating HSV-1 latency within human trigeminal ganglion neurons.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in a relevant subject area (stem cell biology, virology, neuroscience, or similar)
- Strong molecular biology skills (e.g., cloning, Western blot, RT-qPCR)
- Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture
- Fluency in English
Job Description:
- Designing and performing experiments in the fields of stem cell biology and virology
- Performing whole-genome CRISPR/Cas genetic screens
- Applying different bulk, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomic technologies
- Conceiving and developing new ideas, approaches, and/or original technologies
- Generating and recording data for publication
- Drafting manuscripts and figures deriving from their own results
- Interacting closely with other laboratory members and collaborators
- Presenting scientific results at relevant international meetings
