Postdoctoral Researchers in Resource Economics: The University of Helsinki is seeking qualified individuals for two postdoctoral researcher positions in environmental and resource economics. These positions, funded by an ERC Starting Grant, are part of the project “Green Tax Reform for a Just Climate Transition,” led by Associate Professor Lassi Ahlvik. The project aims to explore the impact of climate policy on inequality and develop strategies for mitigating harmful effects through taxation.

Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in environmental and resource economics or a related field, demonstrate motivation for academic research, and possess the ability to conduct independent scholarly work. Teaching skills relevant to the position are also required.

Postdoctoral Researchers in Environmental and Resource Economics
The appointed researchers will work within the Helsinki Graduate School of Economics (HGSE) research community, focusing on environmental economics. Research questions can be tailored to the applicants’ interests and skills, encompassing applied empirical economics or economic theory, particularly information economics and mechanism design.
What we offer: The salary will be based on level 5 of the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the Finnish university salary system. Additional performance-based salary components will be provided, and a six-month trial period will be applied.
