Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Required Degree: Terminal degree (PhD) in microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience with mouse models and microbiome research.
  • Proficiency in molecular or cellular biology techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with transcriptomics, metabolomics, and next-generation sequencing.
  • Competence in computational or statistical analysis of multi-omic datasets.
  • Specialized skills in mouse work, mass spectrometry, microbial culture, or host–microbe interaction studies.

Job Description:

The Postdoctoral Scholar will:

  • Design and conduct experiments elucidating the role of microbiome-derived bile acid metabolites in host physiology and disease.
  • Perform and analyze studies involving mouse models, microbiome manipulation, tissue collection, and metabolic phenotyping.
  • Execute microbiome, metabolomic, and transcriptomic analyses through sequencing and mass spectrometry.
  • Integrate multi-omic datasets and collaborate on human clinical studies.
  • Engage in molecular biology and cell culture experiments.
  • Perform bioinformatic and statistical analyses, create data visualizations, prepare manuscripts, and present findings at scientific meetings.
