Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Completion of a doctoral degree within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment.
  • No previous positions held in the professional ranks.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Design, execution, and analysis of experiments using high-intensity, ultrafast laser systems at major national and international user facilities.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of complex laboratory experiments.
  • Conducting quantitative analysis of experimental data.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in high-intensity lasers, ultrafast optics, or high-energy-density laboratory plasmas.
  • Familiarity with plasma diagnostics and large experimental facility operation is desirable.
  • Programming experience for data acquisition, analysis, or modeling (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Julia) is a plus.
