Eligibility/Qualification

Ph.D. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Chemistry, or closely related fieldExperience with in-situ or operando characterization methods
Strong background in crystallography and electron/diffraction-based characterizationExperience with nanofabrication or micro-/nano-processing techniques
Research experience with crystalline solids (metals, alloys, ceramics)Solid understanding of mechanics of materials, defect theory, thermodynamics, and kinetics
Demonstrated ability to conduct independent researchInterest in sustainable materials manufacturing and energy conversion

Job Description

  • Design and conduct advanced materials characterization experiments using TEM/STEM, XRD, and SEM/EBSD.
  • Develop and implement in-situ, operando, and correlative imaging workflows.
  • Interpret observations using crystallographic, thermodynamic, and kinetic frameworks, collaborating with computational researchers.
  • Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Expected Annual Salary: 4.5M – 5.9M yen
