Research Area

Functional analysis of histone modifier autism-linked genes in vertebrate development, focusing on zebrafish (Danio rerio).

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • PhD in a relevant area of Life Sciences (must be completed by the start of the postdoc position)
  • At least one lead author preprinted and/or peer-reviewed publication.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join a NICHD-funded research project to investigate the mechanisms of chromatin regulator autism-linked genes. Candidates should possess a strong background in cellular and molecular biology, with necessary experience in cloning and genomics, including RNA- and ATAC-sequencing preps and computational analyses. Experience with animal models (preferred: aquatic models), embryology, behavioral analyses, and immunofluorescence/in situ hybridization is a plus.

The postdoctoral scholar is expected to demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, ambition, and an excellent record of scientific achievements. Strong oral and written communication skills, time management, and organizational skills are essential for success in this team-oriented environment.
