Postdoctoral Scholar in Immunometabolism: Dr. Qutuba Karwi’s laboratory at Memorial University of Newfoundland is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to contribute to research on metabolic alterations in cardiometabolic disease. The successful candidate will engage in significant research that explores the role of immune cells in cardiometabolic disease and the prospect of targeting immunometabolism to mitigate disease severity.

Eligibility/Qualification
- Education: PhD in physiology, biomedical sciences, pharmacology, or a related field.
- Background: Strong background in cardiovascular sciences and/or energy metabolism.
- Experience: Demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications. Experience with in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro cardiac models is advantageous.
Job Description
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments in cardiovascular and metabolic research.
- Analyze and interpret data, including conducting statistical analysis.
- Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and contribute to grant applications.
- Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate trainees.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Foster a collaborative and collegial laboratory environment.
