Postdoctoral Scholar in Interdisciplinary: The Klausen Research Group at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar with expertise in synthetic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and photochemistry to join their interdisciplinary research team. The candidate will work on multiple projects and collaborate with the research group to contribute to the mentorship and training of junior members of the group.

Location: Department of Chemistry, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD

Eligibility/Qualification: The ideal candidate should have completed their doctoral degree requirements or will complete them before December 31, 2023, from a Chemistry or related department such as Chemical Engineering or Macromolecular Science. The candidate should also have expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: synthesis (organic or inorganic), polymer chemistry, and/or photochemistry.

Job Description:

  • Conduct research in interdisciplinary synthetic chemistry, organic and main group synthesis, and polymer chemistry.
  • Collaborate with the supervisor and research group in determining research directions.
  • Contribute to the mentorship and training of junior members of the research group.
  • Write manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Rebekka S. Klausen, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Johns Hopkins University. She leads the Klausen Research Group, which consists of postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and undergraduate students with expertise in chemical sciences. Dr. Klausen’s research program in polymer chemistry and synthesis has resulted in more than 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts, one book chapter, and awards to both Dr. Klausen and members of her research group.
