Eligibility/Qualification:
- A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer, or Materials Science completed by the time of employment
- Demonstrated track record of research accomplishments
- Desire to work in a team-driven environment
- Preferred: Experience in organic/polymer chemistry and/or organometallic catalysis
- Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, chemical hygiene/safety knowledge, and experience in student mentoring
Job Description: The selected candidate will:
- Design, synthesize, functionalize, and characterize new polymers
- Conduct research in organic and polymer chemistry with a focus on polyolefins, olefin metathesis, and depolymerizations
- Work in a state-of-the-art Chemical Sciences Laboratory with access to staff-maintained equipment at the Analytical Chemistry Instrumentation Facilities
- Collaborate with the Neary Research Group in an interdisciplinary research environment
