Postdoctoral Scholar in Polymer Chemistry: The Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Riverside, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position in the Neary Research Group. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer, or Materials Science completed by the time of employment
  • Demonstrated track record of research accomplishments
  • Desire to work in a team-driven environment
  • Preferred: Experience in organic/polymer chemistry and/or organometallic catalysis
  • Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, chemical hygiene/safety knowledge, and experience in student mentoring

Job Description: The selected candidate will:

  • Design, synthesize, functionalize, and characterize new polymers
  • Conduct research in organic and polymer chemistry with a focus on polyolefins, olefin metathesis, and depolymerizations
  • Work in a state-of-the-art Chemical Sciences Laboratory with access to staff-maintained equipment at the Analytical Chemistry Instrumentation Facilities
  • Collaborate with the Neary Research Group in an interdisciplinary research environment
