Research Area

Vitamin A signaling, transport, inflammation, tissue injury, and recovery in the exocrine pancreas.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Required:
  • PhD or MD with extensive basic science training in retinoid biology, vitamin A metabolism, nuclear receptor signaling, or closely related fields.
  • Strong background in molecular and cellular biology, animal models, or relevant omics technologies.
  • Evidence of scientific productivity and potential for independent research.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience with transcriptional regulation, nuclear receptor biology, or vitamin A transport pathways.
  • Experience with single-cell methods, metabolomics, or lipidomics.
  • Demonstrated interest in translational research, inflammation biology, or pancreatitis.

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Scholar will:

  • Design and execute innovative mechanistic studies in retinoid biology and pancreatitis.
  • Lead and interpret data from genetic models, organ physiology, and omics-based experiments.
  • Collaborate across disciplines, including translational projects involving human cohorts.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals.
  • Present findings at internal seminars and national/international scientific conferences.
  • Promote grant submissions and future independent research directions.

The successful candidate will engage in techniques such as molecular and cellular biology, mouse models of pancreatitis and inflammation, transcriptional profiling, and integration of findings with clinical samples.
