Eligibility/Qualification
Basic Qualifications (required at time of application)
- PhD in (Plant) Biology, Developmental Biology, Systems Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology.
- Experience in high-throughput cloning, transfection, and plant transformation.
- Knowledge of root system architecture or plant development.
- Experience working with tomato and ideally Arabidopsis.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics and statistical tools for genetics data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A highly motivated individual committed to research.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Generating synthetic genetic and optogenetic tools to regulate nitrogen signaling and lateral root initiation and elongation.
- Collaborating with teams in Germany and the UK.
- Attending workshops and courses to improve analytical skills.
- Mentoring students and participating in manuscript and grant preparation.
- Engaging in a vibrant academic community at UC Davis.
