Job Description: The Jain Lab is investigating how environmental factors like oxygen and vitamin levels affect metabolism and disease. Our recent discovery that chronic hypoxia can treat mitochondrial disease has inspired new research directions. Key research questions include:
- Mechanisms of oxygen and vitamin sensing in cells and organisms.
- Adaptation processes to variations in oxygen and vitamin levels.
- The impact of mismatched oxygen and vitamin supply and demand on disease.
- Developing new therapies by manipulating oxygen and vitamin levels.
- Practical applications of these concepts in translational therapies.
Postdoctoral scholars will:
- Lead independent research projects
