Postdoctoral Scholar Position – Ardona Lab: The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at UC Irvine is seeking highly motivated applicants for a postdoctoral scholar position in the Ardoña Research Group. The position involves working on a project focused on addressing challenges in the maturation of stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. The scholar will contribute to the development of peptide-based interfaces that induce tissue anisotropy and stimulate cardiac tissues in a wireless and genetic modification-free manner.

Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates should have a doctorate in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or other relevant fields. Experience working with stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes or having a background in tissue engineering is preferred. Knowledge of protein/peptide conjugation techniques or materials-oriented organic synthesis is beneficial but not required.

Job Description: The postdoctoral scholar will be responsible for conducting research in the Ardoña Research Group, focusing on the maturation of stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. The scholar will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and contribute to the development of peptide-based interfaces for stimulating cardiac tissues. The position is initially for a 24-month period, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.
