Postdoctoral Scholarship: Novel Materials: KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for a project focused on developing novel, protein-based materials for water purification. The project involves utilizing nanostructured materials from agricultural waste or side streams with excellent adsorption properties for organic and inorganic pollutants, along with creating high-performance and solvent-resistant protein aerogels. This research project is a collaboration between the groups of Christofer Lendel and Mikael Hedenqvist.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • The applicant should possess a doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in a relevant subject area, such as physical chemistry, NMR spectroscopy, soft materials, or structural biology.
  • Substantial practical laboratory experience is required.
  • Strong oral and written English language skills are essential.
  • Documented skills in scientific writing are advantageous.

Job Description:

Postdoctoral Scholarship: Novel Materials for Water Purification

  • Conduct research in the development of protein-based materials for water purification.
  • Utilize nanostructured materials from agricultural waste or side streams to create materials with excellent adsorption properties for organic and inorganic pollutants.
  • Develop high-performance and solvent-resistant protein aerogels.
  • Independently lead and contribute to the project.
  • Collaborate with research groups led by Christofer Lendel and Mikael Hedenqvist.

  • EU citizens on scholar or private funding must provide a certificate showing EHIC insurance (a comprehensive medical and health insurance) from their home country that covers the entire stay in Sweden.
  • Failure to provide this certificate may limit your stay in Sweden to three months without the ability to register as a resident in Sweden.
