Eligibility/Qualification
- Essential:
- PhD (or close to completion) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, or a related discipline.
- Strong track record in synthetic organic chemistry, including route design and compound characterization.
- Solid understanding of medicinal chemistry concepts and drug discovery workflows.
- Desirable:
- Experience with biophysical techniques (e.g., SPR, ITC, DSF) and DNA-encoded library (DEL) screening.
- Experience in chemical biology and antibacterial drug discovery.
- Experience in collaborative consortium-based research environments.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Lead their own project involving the design and synthesis of small molecules.
- Apply medicinal chemistry principles, emphasizing structure–activity relationship (SAR) analysis.
- Collaborate with microbiologists, biochemists, and structural biologists.
- Conduct biophysical characterization of protein-ligand interactions and/or DEL screening.
- Analyze data, maintain clear experimental records, and prepare manuscripts for publication.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive lab environment and support junior researchers.
