Eligibility/Qualification
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Crystallography, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong command of the German language
- Experience (ideally) in scattering methods and/or alloys is desirable

Job Description
As a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, your responsibilities will include:
- Employing neutron and X-ray scattering methods to characterize aluminum alloys produced through powder bed laser beam melting (LPBF)
- Investigating phases, precipitation sizes, volume fractions, and their influence on the mechanical properties of alloys
- Carrying out experiments using a testing machine under variable load, pressure, and temperature conditions
- Coordinating project activities, including managing finances, project meetings, and reports
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including researchers from the University of Erlangen and the industry partner, Laser Concept
Additionally, you will utilize laboratory facilities for characterization (X-ray diffraction, microscopy, hardness testing) and the preparation of alloys.
