Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in molecular biology, microbiology, or a related field.
- Experience with bacterial molecular biology, particularly Bacillus subtilis or similar model organisms.
- Skills in computer programming related to bioinformatics methods and/or time-series analysis.
- Affinity for quantitative data analysis.
- Ability to think critically, work independently, and engage in highly collaborative international projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cooperative work.
Job Description: The selected candidate will:
- Investigate the molecular mechanism of the Bacillus subtilis circadian clock.
- Conduct genome-wide mutant screens using the robust genetic toolkit of B. subtilis.
- Apply chronobiological principles and formalisms to describe the clock mechanism.
- Collaborate closely with international partners at Leiden University (Netherlands) and The John Innes Centre (United Kingdom), involving international travel.
- Participate in an international research team (MicroClock), contribute to cutting-edge discoveries, and attend national and international conferences.
