Postdoctoral Scientist in Computational Immunology: Uniklinikum Erlangen, in collaboration with IFAU, is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist with expertise in systems immunology, bioinformatics, and machine learning. This role, based in the Grieshaber-Bouyer Lab at the Department of Internal Medicine 3 — Rheumatology and Immunology, Erlangen University Hospital, offers an exciting opportunity to lead projects focused on integrating clinical data with multi-omics data to uncover new insights into disease heterogeneity, treatment response, relapse, and resistance.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Doctoral degree in life sciences, immunology, bioinformatics, or computer sciences.
- Fluent coding skills in R.
- Extensive experience in analyzing data from bulk and single cell RNA-seq, CITE-seq, CyTOF, and flow cytometry.
- Experience with code management and version control (e.g., using GitHub).
- Proficiency in molecular biology methods.
- Fluent knowledge of English for effective communication with research groups and conferences.
- Enthusiasm for translational research bridging basic immunology and human disease.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Theoretical knowledge of immunology and autoimmunity is desirable.
- Coding skills in Python are advantageous but not required.
Job Description:
- Lead projects to integrate clinical data with multi-omics data and develop bioinformatic methods for data integration.
- Investigate molecular mechanisms of DNA processing for antibiotic resistance gene transfer in bacteria.
- Dissect how immune cells adapt to different tissues and inflammatory conditions using high-dimensional discovery in patient samples, in vitro systems, and murine models.
- Develop novel analysis tools for high-dimensional data.
