Job Description:
Postdoctoral Scientist (f/m/d) in the Field of Root Physiology
The Genetics and Physiology of Root Development research group is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to join their team. The group’s primary research focus is on crop root anatomical and architectural traits in cereals such as barley, wheat, and maize. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Root Architectural and Anatomical Phenotyping: Utilize imaging, rhizotrons, and microscopy to assess root traits.
- Plant and Root Physiological Measurements: Conduct experiments to determine the function of interacting root phenotypes.
- Functional-Structural Plant and Mathematical Modeling: Employ modeling techniques to assess the benefits of root phenotypes for stress tolerance.
- Reporting: Publish research findings in scientific journals and deliver oral presentations.
