Eligibility/Qualification

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in relevant fields: biology, environmental sciences, forestry, biophysics, physics, chemistry, or similar
  • Excellent analytical skills, including experience with big datasets and advanced statistical analyses
  • High proficiency in programming languages such as R and/or Python
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Catalan is recommended
  • Experience in biological experiments and scientific publications is highly valuable

Description

The selected researcher will:

  • Compile and analyze large datasets to explore the thesis questions
  • Conduct laboratory experiments using microcosms to evaluate environmental impacts on ecosystem dynamics
  • Lead the writing of scientific articles resulting from the research, and collaborate with the research group on shared projects
  • The project will contribute to three primary areas: assessing nature-based solutions, understanding risks to ecosystems, and proposing adaptive measures for resilience.
