Research Area: The long-term consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on the transition to the labor market of youth. This involves empirical fieldwork, research-action activities, longitudinal biographical interviews, and quantitative analysis of secondary data.
Location: Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Institute of Governance and Public Policies (IGOP), Barcelona, Spain.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree (at least 300 ECTS credits) in Engineering or a related field, or an official Master’s degree in Social Sciences.
- Admission to or enrollment in a Doctoral program in Social Sciences before the contract is signed.
- Fluency in English (with adequate certification for research exchange; a C1 certificate is preferred).
- Sufficient knowledge of Spanish to conduct interviews (B2 level). Basic knowledge of Catalan is valued.
- Skill in data management and analysis software (Atlas.ti or NVivo preferred; familiarity with STATA, R, or other statistical software is also valued).
- Ideally, the candidate will have conducted their Master’s dissertation through in-depth interviews on topics related to youth transition to adulthood. Experience in research centers (especially those related to the project’s main topic) and published work in this field are also positively evaluated.
Description: The predoctoral researcher will be primarily involved in three work packages encompassing empirical fieldwork (data collection and analysis of longitudinal biographical interviews), quantitative analysis of secondary data, and support in the preparation of living labs. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct several research stays with partners in N°yd-UP and actively collaborate in dissemination and communication tasks. Teamwork and problem-solving skills are highly valued.
