Research Area:
The research will focus on understanding the dynamics of the ecological condition of woodlands in the Iberian Peninsula, with a specific emphasis on the cause of functional changes.

Barcelona, Spain

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography, or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in environmental, biological sciences, Geography, data sciences, cartography, forest engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in remote sensing and GIS skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in ecological modeling.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.

Job Description:
The selected candidate will undertake the following activities:

  • Research new approaches to EFA/EFT concepts and methods.
  • Study the role of spatial and temporal scales in EFA/EFT generation.
  • Assess EFA/EFT dynamics and identify potential stand disturbance areas.
  • Analyze the links and cross-benefits between EFT and LULC dynamics’ approaches.
  • Contribute as the first author to scientific journal manuscripts.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, or summer schools related to the research topic.
  • Fulfill any training activities required by the PhD Program.
