Study Area:
The scholarship focuses on Critical Data Studies, encompassing Sociology, Science and Technology Studies (STS), Data & Society, Information Studies, Information Systems, and related disciplines. The research addresses digitalisation and datafication processes in education, ageing societies, and the public sector.
Scholarship Description: As a Project Assistant – Doctoral Candidate, you will contribute to the composition of a doctoral thesis in Critical Data Studies. This includes participation in the research group’s projects, academic publications, acquisition of third-party funds, attendance at conferences, teaching responsibilities, and student support. The position is affiliated with the Professorship for Digital Societies and the BANDAS Center.
Eligibility: Applicants should have a completed diploma or master’s degree in Sociology, STS, Data & Society, Information Studies, Information Systems, or related disciplines. Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English, strong IT skills, and a passion for scientific work are essential. Communication skills, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to work in a team are desired.
