About- Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with the cooperation of great personalities like Dr. Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India.
Research/Job Area- Genetics and Plant Breeding
Location- Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, UP, India
- The candidates for the post of Project Scientist-II should be Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding/Plant Breeding and Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics with three years experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or Science and Technology organizations and scientific activities and services.
- The candidates for the post of Field Worker should be Graduate in any discipline.
- The upper Age Limit is 40 Years for the post of Project Scientist-II and 50 years for the post of Field Worker (relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates; (in case of non-research positions, upper age limit may also be relaxed for a duration of earlier work in a project/scheme in B.H.U. subject to the University rules prevalent at that time).
- All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.
Applications are invited for the post of Project Scientist-II (one post) with a consolidated emolument of Rs.67000 + 16 % HRA per month and for the post of Field Worker (2 posts) with a consolidated emolument of Rs. 18000 + 16% HRA per month in a Department of
Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology (Govt. of India) Sponsored research Project No. P-07/743 entitled “Development of superior Haplotype based Near Isogenic Lines (Haplo-NILs) for enhanced genetic gain in rice” sanctioned up to 151 March 2023.
The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
