About- The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore has invited online applications for 11 temporary positions of Instructor and Project Scientist I under its Undergraduate Programme. Eligibility/Qualification-
Instructor Positions
- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
- Two years of post-Ph.D. experience is desirable.
- Candidates with less than two years of post-Ph.D. experience may also be considered as Research Associate I or II based on experience.
- Relevant teaching and research experience is preferred in applicable disciplines.
Project Scientist I Positions
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in the relevant Engineering/Technology discipline.
- Prior teaching/research experience is desirable.
- For Computer Science positions, strong programming skills are preferred.
Age Limit
- Instructor: Maximum 35 years.
- Project Scientist I: Maximum 38 years.
- Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India norms.

Instructor
Selected candidates will:
- Maintain undergraduate laboratories.
- Conduct laboratory courses and teaching activities.
- Assist in curriculum development and laboratory design.
- Conduct tutorials and prepare course materials.
- Participate in student assessment and evaluation activities.
Project Scientist I
Selected candidates will:
- Design laboratory curriculum and conduct UG laboratory courses.
- Teach tutorials and assist faculty members.
- Grade assignments, quizzes, and examinations.
- Oversee undergraduate computing and electronics laboratories.
- Coordinate teaching assistants and academic activities.
- Support curriculum development and hands-on learning initiatives.
- Participate in student assessment and feedback processes.
Salary
- Instructor / Project Scientist I: ₹67,000 + HRA per month
- Research Associate I (Ph.D. Fresher): ₹58,000 + HRA
- Research Associate II (Ph.D. + 1 year experience): ₹61,000 + HRA
- Senior Instructor (Ph.D. + 8 years experience): ₹1,02,000 + HRA
Duration of Appointment
The engagement is purely temporary and contractual, initially for one year, renewable annually based on satisfactory performance and institutional requirements, up to a maximum tenure of five years.
