Scholarship Description: As a doctoral candidate, you will be responsible for writing a dissertation, conducting field research on biological soil crusts, participating in climate change experiments, and executing controlled experiments in the laboratory. Additionally, engagement in organizational tasks of the institute is expected.

Eligibility: Applicants should hold a completed master’s degree in natural sciences, exhibit an interest in ecological fieldwork in high alpine regions, and possess excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English. While experience with lichens and/or bryophytes or biological soil crusts is desirable, the key attributes include the ability for independent research, organizational skills, and the competence to work in an international and interdisciplinary team.
