Eligibility/Qualification
- Must be admitted as a full-time doctoral student (9 credit hours) for the Spring/Summer 2026 term at Dakota State University.
- Hold a Master of Science in Computer Science with a thesis focused on quantum computing.
- Excellent mathematics skills and a strong understanding of fundamental physics concepts.
- Familiarity with quantum computing basics (qubit representation, matrices, superposition, entanglement).
- High proficiency in Python programming.
- Familiarity with quantum programming languages and network simulators is a plus.
Job Description
The GRA will assist in:
- Developing and testing Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) protocols tailored for power system architectures.
- Analyzing and simulating QKD-based communication models.
- Assessing resilience against both classical and quantum-enabled cyberattacks.
- Constructing adversarial models to simulate potential attack vectors on QKD-enabled communication channels.
- Integrating Quantum Machine Learning (QML) techniques to enhance security frameworks and improve early detection of malicious activity.
The GRA will work for 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule, engaging in interdisciplinary research spanning quantum communications, cybersecurity, and power engineering.
