Quantum Computing Postdoctoral Fellow: Join Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s Applied Mathematics and Computational Research Division team as a Quantum Computing Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to advancing quantum simulation for DOE relevant science domains.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD degree in computer science, physics, applied mathematics, or a relevant field.
  • Strong experience in quantum computing and related algorithm and software development.
  • Proficiency in Python, Rust, numerical optimization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with GPU code generation using JAX, BQSKit, numerical optimization.
  • Programming skills in C/C++ (desired).

Job Description:
The Quantum Computing Postdoctoral Fellow will:

  • Develop efficient algorithms for circuit synthesis and software tools for quantum computing.
  • Implement open-source software tools with a focus on resource estimation and emulation for Fault Tolerant quantum computing.
  • Contribute to simulations on physical hardware as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Generate and tune GPU code using JAX.
  • Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
