Eligibility & Qualification
- Education: PhD in Electrochemical Technologies, Membrane Technology, Water Treatment, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 1+ years of industrial R&D experience, preferably within a startup or scale-up setting.
- Technical Expertise: Solid foundation in electrochemistry, membrane processes, and/or water treatment.
- Preferred Skills: Hands-on experience with electrodialysis, ion-selective membranes, capacitive deionization (CDI), electrochemical reactors, lithium processing, or critical mineral recovery is a strong advantage.
- Competencies: Strong practical troubleshooting skills, self-driven work ethic, and ability to operate at the intersection of applied science and commercial development.
- Languages: Professional working proficiency in English (required); conversational proficiency in Dutch or Spanish is a plus.
- Work Authorization: Must already possess valid working rights in the Netherlands (visa sponsorship is not offered).
Job Description
- Develop and optimize electrochemical and membrane-based separation processes to enhance selectivity, recovery rates, product purity, and energy efficiency.
- Design, configure, and conduct laboratory-scale experiments focusing on membranes, electrodes, and operational parameters.
- Translate bench-scale findings into larger-scale systems and pilot demonstrations.
- Support pilot design, assembly, operation, troubleshooting, and validation.
- Analyze experimental datasets and contribute to technical documentation as well as EU project reporting.
