Recruitment Notice for Scientist: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, on behalf of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), is inviting online applications for the direct recruitment of Scientist-B (Non-Medical) positions. These roles are available at the ICMR Headquarters in New Delhi and its various Institutes and Centres across India.

Research Areas & Job Requirements

  • General Biomedical Sciences: Research and development related to Biomedical Sciences.
  • IT/Computer Science: Focused on Regulatory New Approach Methodologies (NAM) as an alternative to animal testing.
  • Pharmacology: Focused on pre-clinical and experimental pharmacology.

The age limit for all posts is 35 years (as of the closing date), with relaxations applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10-15 years), and Central Government Employees.

  • Pay Level: Level 10 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix
  • Pay Scale: 56,100 units to 1,77,500 units (plus usual allowances as admissible to Central Government servants).

Candidates will be responsible for conducting and managing high-level scientific research. The selection process involves:

  1. Stage-I (Computer Based Test): An objective exam (100 marks) covering Research Methodology, Biostatistics, Bioethics, Communicable/Non-Communicable Diseases, Logical Reasoning, and English.
  2. Stage-II (Interview): Candidates qualifying the CBT (50% for UR/OBC/EWS, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD) will be called for an interview in a 1:5 ratio.
  3. Final Merit: Based solely on the performance in the Interview.
  • Applications must be submitted only through the online mode via the AIIMS exams portal: www.aiimsexams.ac.in.
  • Application Fees:
    • General/OBC: 3,000 units
    • SC/ST/EWS: 2,400 units
    • PwBD: Exempted
  • Required Documents: Digital images of photo, signature, thumb impression, and (if applicable) No Objection Certificate (NOC) for current government employees.
  • Online Registration Starts: February 2, 2026
  • Last Date to Apply: March 1, 2026 (upto 5:00 PM)
  • Application Correction Window: March 10, 2026, to March 13, 2026
