Eligibility/Qualification

  • Essential:
  • Have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry (for Research Associate) or a Master’s degree in chemistry for Research Assistant level.
  • Experience in modern synthetic organic chemistry techniques and characterization methods (NMR, mass spectrometry).
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational abilities.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in developing new methodologies for organic synthesis.
  • Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience supervising students in laboratory settings.

Job Description

  • Conduct research on developing new synthetic methodologies for the stereocontrolled synthesis of C–N atropisomeric amides.
  • Synthesize precursors and optimize reactions to enhance synthetic techniques.
  • Purify and analyze target molecules while maintaining detailed laboratory records.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and contribute to day-to-day laboratory management.
  • Train and supervise postgraduate and undergraduate students.
  • Present research findings through oral communications and written reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct risk assessments (COSHH).
