Eligibility/Qualification
- Essential:
- Have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry (for Research Associate) or a Master’s degree in chemistry for Research Assistant level.
- Experience in modern synthetic organic chemistry techniques and characterization methods (NMR, mass spectrometry).
- Excellent communication skills and organizational abilities.
- Desirable:
- Experience in developing new methodologies for organic synthesis.
- Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience supervising students in laboratory settings.
Job Description
- Conduct research on developing new synthetic methodologies for the stereocontrolled synthesis of C–N atropisomeric amides.
- Synthesize precursors and optimize reactions to enhance synthetic techniques.
- Purify and analyze target molecules while maintaining detailed laboratory records.
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and contribute to day-to-day laboratory management.
- Train and supervise postgraduate and undergraduate students.
- Present research findings through oral communications and written reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct risk assessments (COSHH).
