Research Assistant/Associate Positions – Cordero Lab: The Cordero Lab at the College of Medical, Veterinary, and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow, invites applications for two fully funded Research Assistant/Associate positions. The successful candidates will contribute to pioneering projects on interorgan signaling in health and disease, using Drosophila as the primary model system with translational studies in mouse models. This is a full-time position funded for 12 months, with the possibility of an additional 24-month extension.

  • Strong research skills with a proven record of publications preferred
  • Willingness to apply for external personal funding
  • Interest in leadership and mentorship development

Job Description

  • Conduct research on interorgan signaling coordinated by the adult Drosophila in health and disease
  • Translate findings into mammalian systems (mouse models)
  • Participate in ongoing collaborative research projects
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to leadership development
  • Prepare and submit research publications
  • Engage in grant writing and funding applications
  • Foster collaborations within and outside the institution
