Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in Earth/environmental sciences, material sciences, physics, chemistry, or related fields
- Expertise in advanced X-ray tomography, synchrotron research, and operando 4D imaging
- Experience in designing and manufacturing experimental apparatus and planning experimental campaigns
- Proficiency in processing and quantitatively analyzing 3D and 4D image datasets, including Python (scikit-image and SPAM) and Dragonfly
- Basic understanding of machine learning
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience in writing synchrotron beam time applications
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Job Description:
- Assist EXCITE2 users in planning, executing, and analyzing operando 4D microtomography imaging experiments at synchrotron light sources
- Contribute to innovative research projects focusing on the detailed characterization of materials and processes affecting their performance
- Collaborate with a team of experts to address challenges related to sustainable development and a circular economy
- Develop and implement experimental methodologies, analyze data, and interpret results
- Engage in scientific activities such as seminars, workshops, and annual retreats
- Provide support and guidance to users, ensuring the successful execution of experiments
