Research Assistant at University of Bremen: The University of Bremen, SOCIUM – Research Center for Inequality and Social Policy, is hiring a Research Assistant (f/m/d) in the areas of computational social science, social data science, or new data sources. The position is for a three-year term and offers an opportunity for academic qualification. The successful candidate will engage in independent and collaborative research, participate in ongoing projects, contribute to teaching, and be part of the Social Data Laboratory (SoDa Lab).

Location: University of Bremen, SOCIUM – Research Center for Inequality and Social Policy, Germany
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed academic university degree (master/university diploma)
- Doctorate in sociology, political science, or related disciplines
- Research experience and interest in social and political conflicts
- Very good knowledge of empirical methods, especially in computational social sciences
- Proficient in R and/or Python; ability to quickly learn R and Python
- Ability to conduct high-quality, impactful research independently and in a team
- Fluent in English; ability to teach in German or willingness to acquire within a year
Job Description:
- Independent and collaborative research in specified fields
- Participation in research projects, publications, and new project conception
- Teaching in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs
- Contribution to the SoDa Lab activities
- Publication work in international peer-reviewed journals
