Eligibility/Qualification
- Good to very good academic degree (Master’s) in computer science, mathematics, data science, computational linguistics, cognitive science, or a related field.
- Sound programming knowledge in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript; familiarity with additional programming languages (e.g., R, Java, C#, Rust, C++) is an advantage.
- Initial experience in developing AI models using frameworks such as PyTorch, Huggingface Transformers, Scikit-learn, and Pandas/Numpy.
- Experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and text/vector search engines (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr).
- Basic web development skills using frameworks (e.g., Django, FastAPI, React).
- Familiarity with version management systems like Git.
- Good command of the English language (spoken and written), and good German language skills (or willingness to learn).
- Previous experience in academic writing and presentation is desirable.
Job Description
- Processing and analyzing text-based data from learning management systems, assessment systems, and qualitative sources (e.g., interview transcripts).
- Implementing, developing, and adapting AI models for annotating and scoring text data to optimize AI-supported teaching and learning.
- Participating in scientific conferences, organizing workshops, and contributing to scientific publications.
- Developing individual research questions and conducting independent research in AI in education and learning analytics.
- Supervising students’ final theses.
