Eligibility/Qualification

  • Doctorate and above-average academic degree in biology, physics, (bio-) computer science, or related fields
  • Research focus that complements the working group’s activities
  • Excellent proficiency in mathematical modeling
  • Solid knowledge of statistical analysis methods
  • Very good command of written and spoken English

Additional Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of concepts in ecology and evolutionary biology
  • Practical experience with experimental scientists
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary and international teams
  • Experience in acquiring third-party funding
  • Experience in teaching and supervising students

Job Description

  • Support ongoing research projects by developing computer models and conducting computer-based analyses
  • Assist in planning experiments and statistical analysis of data sets
  • Engage in research within the field of theoretical ecology and evolution
  • Utilize methods such as:
  • Individual-based modeling
  • Differential equations modeling
  • Metabolic networks and interaction networks modeling
  • Deep learning and artificial intelligence
  • Acquire third-party funding
  • Supervise scientific projects of undergraduate, Master’s, and doctoral students
  • Plan and implement teaching courses in theoretical ecology and evolution
