Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed Master’s degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in biology or a related field
- Proficiency in microbiological techniques and molecular biological methods
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of ecological and evolutionary concepts
- Ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team
- Experience in high-resolution fluorescence microscopy and using programming languages like Python are advantageous
Job Description:
- Conduct coculture and coevolution experiments with bacterial strains
- Analyze fitness consequences of mutations through growth experiments
- Quantify amino acid production rates of bacterial strains
- Collaborate closely with other research partners
- Engage in spatio-temporal analysis using microfluidics and fluorescence microscopy
- Perform flow cytometric analyses
- Develop and analyze theoretical models
- Work towards a PhD within the duration of the position
