Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree, Diploma, or equivalent in Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, or Data Science
- Strong knowledge in programming (R, Python, or similar environments)
- Experience or interest in UAV technologies (EU Remote Pilot License A2 is a plus)
- Proficiency in German (very good) and English (good)
- Driver’s license (Class B)
- Previous experience or knowledge in AI-based classification techniques is advantageous
- Willingness to engage in fieldwork with project partners
Job Description:
As a Research Assistant, you will be involved in the following key tasks:
- Collaborating closely with project partners in remote sensing and geoinformatics, agricultural research institutes, and industry partners.
- Selection and preparation of experimental sites.
- Conducting UAV flights (multispectral) in vineyards for crop growth monitoring.
- Assisting project partners in data collection (RGB, Lidar, hyperspectral) for growth and health assessments of crops.
- Developing and training Artificial Intelligence models to derive parameters from tractor-based data.
- Communicating research findings within the project team and publishing results.
- Supporting teaching activities and contributing to academic qualifications in environmental remote sensing and geoinformatics.
