Job Description:
Research Assistant (m/f/d) – Molecular Stress Physiology
The Research Assistant will be part of the Heisenberg group of Molecular Stress Physiology, focusing on understanding plastid to nucleus retrograde signaling in diatoms. This research is part of a project funded by the German Research Agency (DFG). The work involves using molecular techniques, genome editing, gene expression studies, physiology, and bioinformatics. The project will also include research stays in Belgium.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Completed university degree in biology or biochemistry with good results.
- Knowledge in plant/algal biology and strong molecular biology skills.
- Experience in algal cultivation and bioinformatics is desirable.
- Proficient in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of the German language is desirable.
- Willingness to work on scientific qualification (doctorate) and spend extended research stays in Belgium.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate within interdisciplinary teams.
