Research Assistant (M/F/D): The University of Rostock is offering a PhD position in molecular inorganic chemistry, catalysis, theory, and spectroscopy under the DFG-funded Research Training Group (RTG) GRK 2943 “Spectroscopic Tools for Challenging Reduction Reactions: Catalytic Coupling of CO2 (SPECTRE)”.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Completed university degree (state examination, diploma, master’s, or comparable degree) in Chemistry, with very good results.
  • Good knowledge of inorganic chemistry, synthesis, catalysis, and spectroscopy (NMR, UV-Vis).
  • Willingness to pursue scientific qualification.
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Very good English language skills (written and spoken).

Job Description

  • Engage in interdisciplinary research at the interface of molecular inorganic chemistry, catalysis, theory, and spectroscopy aimed at activating and coupling CO2 to achieve a PhD qualification.
  • Actively participate in RTG-related training and qualification activities.
  • Publish research results.
