Graduate Research Assistant (Ph.D.) and Postdoctoral Research Fellow Positions in Plant Sciences
The Graduate Research Assistant (Ph.D.) and Postdoctoral Research Fellow positions offer a unique opportunity to engage in impactful research projects supported by a USDA grant. As part of our team, you will work on generating and analyzing genomic and phenotypic data, develop computational scripts and models, and collaborate with experts in the department to translate research findings into practical applications. The initial appointment for the Postdoctoral Research Fellow is up to two years.
Eligibility:
For Ph.D. Graduate Research Assistant:
- A master’s degree in plant science, breeding, genomics, genetics, computational biology, or related field.
- Interest in learning computational skills, genomics, and genetics.
- Experience in Linux/bash programming is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to publish original research in peer-reviewed journals.
For Postdoctoral Research Fellow:
- A Ph.D. in plant science, computational biology, molecular biology, or related field.
- Experience with Linux is required.
- Experience working with genomes is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to publish original research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Proficiency in Linux/bash programming, experience in analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing data, and proficiency in python/R programming are desirable.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
